Why green roof accessories are indispensable

Installing a green roof involves more than just plants and substrate. The right components play a crucial role in the sustainability, functionality and aesthetics of the whole. Below are the main reasons why accessories should be part of every green roof:

Neat zones, tidy finish

With retaining profiles or separation profiles, you can visually and functionally separate different zones, such as planting and gravel. This creates a clean layout and prevents substrate or gravel from spreading outside the designated zone. 

Access and maintenance via inspection chambers and covers

Access points are needed for inspecting drainage layers, checking water drainage or conducting repairs. Inspection chambers make it possible to do all this without damaging the roof surface. We offer various designs and attachments so that the chamber fits the height of the roof. 

Safety of the roof waterproofing

Accessories such as profiles and covers protect the roof waterproofing against mechanical stress, root penetration or physical damage. Carefully designed connections and finishes keep the roof bedding intact.

What components do we supply?

Retaining profiles 

These profiles separate zones on the green roof (such as planting from gravel), create visually clean lines and keep materials in place. 

• Straight profiles: for simple edging along long, straight lines

• Perforated variants: ensure optimal water drainage, which is a must, especially on sloping roofs

• Flexible/bendable profiles: ideal for bends, curves or irregular roof shapes

Inspection shafts & covers

Inspection points are essential for maintenance, inspection and any repairs. We supply basic wells, risers and covers in various sizes:

• Base wells: straight or bendable profiles that can be shaped on site

• Extension pieces: to compensate for height differences in a base pit

• Covers: there is a cover for every pot, and the same goes for your green roof – available in various sizes and designs

Connectors

For a neat finish, smooth transitions between profiles are essential.

• Universal connecting plates/couplings : for quick installation without additional tools

• Corner couplings : for connecting profiles neatly in corners without visible fastenings
